The Christlumlifte lifts in Achenkirch (accessible via the ski bus or by car in approx. 5 minutes), the Rofanseilbahn cable car in Maurach, the Karwendel mountain railway and the Planberg and Wiesenlifte lifts in Pertisau and the lifts in Steinberg and Wiesing offer a total of 30 ascent options covering 53km of slopes up to a height of almost 1,900m.

Nordic sport fans can look forward to a network of cross-country skiing tracks spanning over 200km all around Achensee, taking you around the Achensee’s banks as well as picturesque Karwendel valleys. The tracks have received the cross-country track seal of approval from the state of Tyrol. Separate skating routes and diagonal tracks guarantee unlimited cross-country skiing fun for ambitious and leisurely skiers alike.

Snow shoe walkers setting off from the banks of lake Achensee not only benefit from a variety of routes but are also treated to impressive panoramic views. The Kögljoch and Rofan peaks offer very special views down over lake Achensee as well as the Großglockner and Großvenediger in the distance. But there are also plenty of places to take a breather and lots to see as well: from the popular Stod waterfall to wild ibex, chamois and even golden eagles circling over the Karwendel National Park.
